Abandoned Buildings of Colorado # 4

As some of you know before I was a Bowman, I was a Camper. This name that I was born with has always meant a lot to me. It was passed down to me by my dad, and my grandfather before that. In the town of Westcliffe, the name ‘Camper’ is a well-known name, and this all stems from a homestead where it all began. IMG_3132 The property is still part of a working ranch owned by my dad’s cousin, Trina, but the original buildings have not been lived in for many years. IMG_3144 IMG_3139 IMG_3135

Elton would have been my great great uncle, and was the uncle of my grandfather, Harvey ‘Bud’ Camper.
