This month I am spending a couple weeks in Colorado. I was born here, and am looking forward to being able to be in one of my favorite places for so much time. In addition to photography, I am also a 5th grade teacher, and feel very fortunate to be able to take time to travel during the summer.
My husband was also able to get a few days off, and did the drive up with me. Of course I brought my camera, and decided to document my travels.
The first stop in our northward journey was Flagstaff.
I couldn’t leave town for too long with out bringing my best travel buddies, our dogs, Dexter and Ava. The dogs did really well on the trip, but were definitely thrilled each time they were able to get out. This is Dexter, our little dachshund.
I have driven to Colorado many times, but the fastest way to my destination had always been through New Mexico, then north, through Trinidad. Because of this, I had never been to the Four Corners. It had always been on my to-do list, and this was the trip when I finally got to do it.
While I can always say that I have been in four places at once, I mostly spent much of my time during this visit waiting in line (see above). The dogs weren’t too thrilled that they weren’t allowed to join us, but at last, we made it through the line, and got our picture.
Stay tuned for more adventures, and my abandoned buildings series!
